Optimising Wellness and Performance in Health Care Workers

24 CPD Hours

Welcome – we hope you enjoy exploring the Conference information below. If you would like to secure your place or have any further questions please complete the enquiry form or call Education at Sea on 02 6674 2577.

Wellness for clinicians matters, not just in its own right, but because it affects performance. As clinicians, we have the following expectations within our workplace. We expect that our environment will be physically and psychologically safe; we expect that we will be resourced and enabled to do an effective job; we expect that we will be supported and given the opportunity to develop our professional skills.

Join us and our Conference Partners, Education at Sea, for the Optimising Wellness in Health Care Workers Conference aboard the Ovation of the Seas as we explore Milford Sound, Dusky Sound, Doubtful Sound, Dunedin, Wellington, and Picton leaving from Sydney.

The complexities of healthcare organisations, our workloads, targets and other factors can challenge these expectations and erode our wellness, resulting in stress, burnout, and mental illness. This interactive Conference invites attendees to reflect on some key themes that will shift their frame on why clinician wellness matters.

We will explain the hard science behind stress and wellness, including the biology of stress and burnout, and introduce them to a number of strategies to enhance their own wellness and performance.

Strategies will be discussed at the level of individual wellness, team wellness and also what can be implemented at an organisational level to enhance overall performance.

At the end of this Conference, attendees will have gained a broad and deep understanding of their personal and professional wellness. They will be equipped with the language and science to communicate their own ideas and reflections. Finally, they will have explored strategies that they may modify and implement individually or within their workplaces.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Explore the rationale for clinician wellness
  • Understand the pathophysiology of Stress, Depression and Wellness
  • Examine the Scientific Basis for Enhancing Your Wellness and Performance
  • Identify the process for translating Ideas into Action: From Individual to Organisational Wellness

Towards Equilibrium Wellness Conference | South Pacific

This is the best conference I’ve attended in at least 10 years. I appreciated the level at which the information was pitched, the confidence and respect from the presenters, their generosity in sharing their personal stories, the ‘realness’ of the work they do and the fun of the conference in general. Really appreciated the networking opportunities too. Thank you. I’d like to see more opportunities for resilience and mental health conferences.
