I love to enjoy a cocktail or two after a hard day in the conference room and cruise ships have great cocktail bars and talented bar staff.
One of my favourite cocktails is a Mojito – see the recipe below.
- juice of 1 lime1 tsp granulated sugar
- small handful mint leaves, plus an extra sprig to serve
- 60ml white rum
- soda water, to taste
Muddle the lime juice, sugar and mint leaves in a small jug, crushing the mint as you go – you can use the end of a rolling pin for this. Pour into a tall glass and add a handful of ice.
Pour over the rum, stirring with a long-handled spoon. Top up with soda water, garnish with mint and serve.
You can also add ginger syrup and a garnish of naked ginger and create a Ginger Mojito or try pomegranate syrup and seeds and create a Pomegranate Mojito.
Relaxing and participating in self care strategies is an important part of taking care of yourself.
Please don’t think I’m fostering alcohol abuse as a means of stress management!
But getting together with a group of friends and colleagues at the end of the day with a drink (alcoholic or not) is a lovely way to engage and debrief.
